Iron Leg is thrilled to welcome back Lancaster Nissan as the official Game Day Sponsor, powering another unforgettable full-contact battle. This unique event brings together players 35+ and amputee athletes 18+, proving once again that grit, heart, and determination don’t come with age limits—or physical limits.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Millersville University, the game will return to the iconic Biemesderfer Field, where fans can expect a high-energy atmosphere, hard hits, and inspiring athletic performances from some of the toughest competitors around. In the summer of 2020, Abby was backed over by a riding mower which resulted in her losing her left leg up to the knee. She visits her prosthetist every 2 months or so to have her prosthetic checked on, and every 6 months she has to visit an orthopedic surgeon for x-rays. She has overcome daily challenges which include frequent pains and discomfort, but her mom says it does not slow her down. She enjoys dance, art, trampolines, swimming, learning to snowboard, hiking/nature and animals. After a recent growth spurt, Abby is ready for a new prosthetic and we are hoping our golf outing will help cover some or all of the cost for Abby’s new leg.

Preparations for the grand game kick off in May 2024, with practice sessions every Sunday afternoon in Lancaster. Exact locations and timings will be shared in due course.

To partake in this electrifying event, a registration fee of $350 will get you your uniform, helmet, and shoulder pads. Players are required to supply a 7-pad girdle and turf cleats. Please note that a signed waiver and physical are required for participation.

The annual event will be held as a fundraiser to benefit Iron-Leg, a non-profit that exists to provide prosthetics, therapy, and related support for children in need, but also as a memorial to honor the memory of September 11, 2001.

Beginning with registration at 10:30 Am., Saturday September 10, the day will feature authentic Scottish bagpipe entertainment to complement the aesthetic of the traditional Scottish-designed golf course, a boxed lunch for golfing guests and a patriotic program with a flag-folding ceremony before the tournament start. After a competitive round of golf on the links-style course, guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, a silent auction, door prizes and a program.

In 2021, Iron-Leg held their 1st fundraising event and raised $38,267. The 2022 goal is set at $50,000.

The Iron Leg Golf Tournament is sponsored by local businesses like Lancaster Nissan, Lanco FCU and Pennlanco FCU and in-kind gift from AAA Sewing.

Iron-Leg was founded in 2020 by Matt Millhouse and Sean Laukhuff to benefit children after Millhouse’s son Parker was born missing his right-leg above the knee. Iron-Leg exists to provide children in Central Pennsylvania and the surrounding area with prosthetics and support.
